Job Title: Geotechnical Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our team at ECS Limited. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in planning and overseeing subsurface explorations and performing analyses for transportation, facilities, water resources, and other types of projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop geotechnical project proposals and subsurface exploration programs.
  • Supervise field activities and crews to gather essential data for project assessments.
  • Provide slope stability analysis, shallow and deep foundation design, and retaining structure design.
  • Review post-bid construction plans to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Provide foundations recommendations for various structures based on thorough analysis and assessment.
  • Introduce innovative design concepts in Geotechnical Engineering to optimize project efficiency and performance.
  • Mentor and support Staff Project Managers and technicians in their development.
  • Collaborate effectively with project teams to ensure timely and high-quality project deliverables.
  • Demonstrate initiative and leadership in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance skills and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Professional Engineer License (P.E.) is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; a Master's or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 4+ years of geotechnical experience with an emphasis in design and development of geotechnical deliverables.
  • Proficiency in DOT Geotechnical Design Manual (GDM) and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Experience with engineering software including gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, and GRLWEAP and slope stability.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team environment.
