We are seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses (RN) to work on a per-diem basis during day and night shifts within the Medical Department.

The RN will be responsible for overseeing and assessing nursing care in alignment with the organization’s philosophy, objectives, and standards. This role will report directly to the Medical Director or a designated mid-level practitioner.

Available Shift:

PRN Day/Night (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse will be primarily tasked with ensuring compliance with established nursing standards. Additionally, the RN will assess and deliver comprehensive treatment care while adhering to security protocols.

Other responsibilities include:

1. Monitoring treatment services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication of services.
2. Advising the Health Services Administrator and Nurse Supervisor of any issues that arise.
3. Evaluating and recommending strategies to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
4. Assisting in the coordination and/or facilitation of monthly healthcare staff meetings as assigned.

Providing additional services and performing other duties as directed by the Nurse Supervisor, Health Services Administrator, head nurse, or corporate staff.

Maintaining precise records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in compliance with applicable laws.
Providing health counseling to patients.
Conducting sick calls for inmate/patients and delivering provisional diagnoses and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries as per established protocols.
Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmate/patients while participating in the development of nursing care plans.
Implementing treatment care plans aimed at promoting, maintaining, and restoring the well-being of inmate/patients.

At the start of each shift, taking vital signs, conducting a comprehensive assessment, and documenting findings for all inmates/patients in the medical and/or mental health units.


This position includes a two-week orientation period for on-the-job training and shadowing with nursing staff.
