About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Special Effects Makeup Artist to join our team at Kings Dominion. As a key member of our live entertainment team, you will be responsible for bringing our characters to life through your exceptional makeup and prosthetic skills.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate Effectively: Collaborate with Makeup Department supervisors and performers to ensure seamless execution of makeup and prosthetic applications.
  • Apply Makeup and Prosthetics: Create and apply intricate makeup designs and prosthetics to bring our characters to life.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the makeup area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Enforce Company Policies: Adhere to and enforce all Kings Dominion and park-specific policies, including safety, attendance, and EEO policies.
  • Perform Additional Duties: Assist with various tasks, including ushering, line monitoring, and float spotting, as needed.
Requirements
  • Interview and Qualifications: Must interview for the position and meet the required qualifications, including prior experience with special effects makeup or show makeup.
  • Portfolio and Resume: Submit a portfolio showcasing a wide range of makeup designs and a resume highlighting relevant experience.
  • Availability and Physical Demands: Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods, and be able to lift up to thirty pounds.
