Job Title: Azure Application Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Application Architect to join our team at Avanade. As an Azure Application Architect, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying cloud-optimized applications in Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn our clients' business, organization, systems, challenges, and goals
  • Build trust with clients and peers as an enterprise cloud architect and domain expert
  • Lead the technical efforts for enterprise-level projects that build and deploy cloud-optimized applications in Azure environments
  • Architect, design, test, and implement cloud applications in both a manual and automated manner
  • Work closely with client operational resources in updating their on-premises practices to include cloud
  • Lead and work in Agile teams using frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and/or SAFe
  • Apply DevOps processes and technologies to automate applications and infrastructure
  • Manage a combination of on-shore and off-shore resources
  • Work closely with the application, network, and security teams to ensure requirements are reflected appropriately in the Azure design
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technical degree
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Azure Application Architect or in a similar role within the IT or IT consulting industry
  • Experience in building or running distributed/scalable enterprise applications on recognized Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud)
  • Experience in modern architecture and design patterns, including micro-services, anti-corruption, and strangler fig
  • Experience in DevOps and/or Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Terraform, Ansible, or Bicep) and deployment approaches/strategies (Ring, Blue/Green, Canary, A/B testing, and/or deployment slots)
  • Experience using Azure Logic Apps, Functions, Durable Functions, and other serverless technologies or AWS equivalents
  • Experience using Azure architecture and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Experience using branching strategies (GitFlow or Github Flow)
  • Experience using development platforms including Azure DevOps, Github, or Github Enterprise
  • Experience in Azure analytics and Azure Data Factory
