Position: Team Leader for Business Management

S&K Sales Co., a family-owned Military Resale Broker, is seeking a Team Leader for Business Management. This role is essential for meeting company sales objectives and aligning with our manufacturer's offerings. The position involves overseeing a team of business managers and fostering robust relationships with senior management at our Exchange Retailers. The ideal candidate will possess strategic insight, a successful history in the consumer products sector, a drive for innovation, and a dedication to achieving exceptional outcomes. Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to cultivate excellent relationships are vital.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management

  • Meet sales targets and operational goals while representing the company professionally.
  • Formulate and execute strategic initiatives to enhance growth and profitability.
  • Conduct business and category assessments utilizing category management principles to analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive dynamics, identifying avenues for growth.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance metrics.
  • Manage distribution by assessing inventory levels, providing setup information, and ensuring timely order placements and deliveries.
  • Ensure accurate pricing and monitor pricing strategies to align with manufacturer objectives.
  • Collaborate with field sales to establish realistic and achievable goals to meet manufacturer needs.
  • Compile communications to assist the field team in actions necessary to achieve set goals.
  • Coordinate with accounting to ensure timely client billing and payments.
  • Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and networking.

Supervising a Team of Business Managers

  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to a team of business managers.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and offer constructive feedback to team members.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Understand client needs and ensure the team delivers high-quality solutions and services that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Act as the primary contact for client inquiries, escalations, and feedback.
  • Encourage innovative thinking within the team to drive process enhancements and operational excellence.
  • Identify training needs within the team and assist in developing training programs to improve team members' skills.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to facilitate team members' growth and development.
  • Serve as a liaison between the team and senior management, providing regular updates on team performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.

Building Relationships with Senior Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at each of the Exchange retail headquarters, including buyers and merchandising managers.
  • Collaborate with retail partners to create joint business plans that promote mutual growth and success.
  • Act as the primary contact for resolving issues or conflicts with retail headquarters management.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior management as necessary, providing recommendations for resolution and risk mitigation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Manager within the military resale sector.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to excellence.
