Job Title: Travel Nurse RN Med Surg

Tact Staff is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN Med Surg to join our team in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Travel Nurse RN Med Surg to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Med Surg environment. As a Travel Nurse RN Med Surg, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and develop your clinical skills in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide holistic care to post-operative patients, including those with orthopedic, bariatric, urologic, or general surgical procedures.
  • Assess patients and establish nursing diagnoses based on results of assessments and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Plan and implement individualized care based on nursing care plan and the nurse's role with the patient.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including fall risk management and safe patient handling.
  • Administer medications and perform skin assessments/wound care.
  • Manage pain and operate/manipulate biomedical and other patient care and testing equipment.
  • Assist physicians and other licensed practitioners with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
  • Teach patients and their families about current illness, medical tests, medication, general healthcare, illness and disease prevention, and wellness promotion.
  • Provide interdisciplinary coordination and facilitation of overall care.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, care, and teaching in the electronic medical record.
Requirements:
  • Recent (within 2 years) acute care hospital experience - REQUIRED
  • Recent post surgical acute care experience with orthopedic (total joint replacement, spinal, trauma, and/or bariatric surgery patients) - REQUIRED
  • Skills checklist (within 1 year)
  • Certifications - certifications don't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain
  • License - OR license doesn't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain
