Job Summary

Tact Staff is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN Med Surg to join our team in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic care for post-operative patients, including those who have had orthopedic, bariatric, urologic, or general surgical procedures.
  • Assess patients, as appropriate to the scope of care the nurse will provide, including physical, psychosocial, learning needs and barriers, needs related to age/culture, and discharge planning.
  • Establish nursing diagnoses based on results of assessments and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Plan care according to identified diagnoses and needs, updating the plan of care as appropriate.
  • Implement individualized care, based on the nursing care plan and the nurse's role with the patient, including assisting with activities of daily living, medication administration, skin assessment/wound care, pain management, and operation/manipulation of biomedical and other patient care and testing equipment.
Requirements
  • 2 years of Med Surg experience - REQUIRED
  • Pediatric experience - preferred
  • EPIC experience - REQUIRED
  • Certifications don't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain
  • OR license doesn't need to be active at time of submission but must be willing to obtain

Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Oregon offers comprehensive medical services for people of all ages, including pediatrics, childbirth and obstetrics, gynecology and female health, cancer diagnosis and treatment in oncology, diabetes and kidney disease treatment, geriatric medicine and services for the elderly and disable, emergency medicine, and a full range of specialty medical services.

The hospital has an in-house Nurse Practitioner in Employee Health Department that sees only employees and their dependents.

Tact Medical Staffing Job ID # Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
