Job Summary

The Chaplain is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing spiritual care and support to patients, families, and staff. This role requires a deep understanding of spiritual health and healing, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide spiritual care and counseling to patients and families, responding to their unique needs and concerns.
  • Develop and present educational programs on spiritual sensitivity and cultural competence for staff and community members.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance the delivery of quality patient care.
  • Act as a liaison with patients' private clergy and other spiritual leaders.
  • Participate in performance improvement efforts and contribute to a culture of teamwork and respect.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in theology or a related field.
  • Minimum one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent experience.
  • Ordination or licensure required.
  • Prior experience in counseling and working with patients and families dealing with life-threatening illness and/or death.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with potential exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and physical injury.
