SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Specialist serves as a key expert in quality processes, which encompasses monitoring products and procedures to ensure compliance with quality benchmarks, executing routine and specialized assessments, analyzing data trends, charting results, calibrating instruments, and confirming that products fulfill customer usage criteria.
This role includes providing quality control training to production staff and evaluating their testing techniques to guarantee ongoing proficiency.
Responsibilities include measuring, monitoring, and upholding quality standards.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts audits of product specifications and inspection methodologies utilized by production staff, reporting findings to relevant personnel.
- Executes quality rating assessments according to established standards and procedures.
- Collects samples for analytical testing.
- Performs quality assurance inspections, including visual and qualitative evaluations.
- Verifies job instruction sheets against product specifications and quality standards.
- Conducts tests, audits, and inspections, summarizing data on materials.
- Tests special products as required.
- Operates and calibrates testing instruments.
- Assesses product appearance, packaging, labeling, and other specified criteria.
- Establishes and maintains quality assurance and calibration traceability documentation.
- Inputs and retrieves quality statistics from data systems.
- Provides data and samples for material certification and assists with testing during plant tours.
- Ensures adequate supplies for the Product Testing Lab.
- Alerts relevant personnel of any equipment or quality issues and coordinates maintenance as necessary.
- Implements hold tags on non-compliant products and re-evaluates held materials.
- Completes necessary records and reports.
- Contributes to the development of new testing methodologies.
- Participates in safety and housekeeping initiatives within the facility.
- Conducts tests on competitor products as directed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by supervision.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The ideal candidate should possess the following abilities:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Able to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Competent in basic mathematical calculations.
- Skilled in operating computers and computer-based testing equipment.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The candidate should meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be a US citizen or possess the right to work in the US.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be drug-free.
- Possession of valid forklift driver certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is expected.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing for extended shifts.
- Bending or twisting motions.
- Handling and controlling objects, tools, or controls.
- Lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds.
- Reading displays on electronic devices.
- Regular on-site attendance and the ability to work varying shifts.
- Wearing respiratory protection as needed.
