Quality Assurance Supervisor Job Description

Whitebridge Pet Brands is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team in Joplin, MO. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety in our pet treat manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train and Develop Team Members: Supervise and train lab technicians and sanitation staff to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties accurately and efficiently.
  • Quality and Food Safety Programs: Ensure the utilization of quality and food safety programs, documenting and communicating necessary information to team members.
  • Product Specifications: Maintain finished product and raw product specifications to ensure materials compliance.
  • Product Testing and Reporting: Work with management to develop product testing frequencies and report trends to compliance specifications.
  • Internal Audits: Participate in all aspects of internal audits to verify compliance and prerequisites to programs and procedures.
  • Product Acceptability and Process Decisions: Collaborate with operations to make product acceptability decisions and process decisions that affect the quality and food safety of products.
  • Consumer Data: Understand the voice of the consumer based on consumer data.
  • Internal Control Measures: Partner with management to identify and implement internal control measures, audit needs, and training material to prevent foreign material adulteration.
  • Traceability: Manage the traceability process to ensure the system is effective in tracing product and materials.
  • Lab and Chemical Supplies: Ensure the lab and chemical supplies are maintained.
  • Equipment Calibration: Ensure equipment is calibrated correctly.
  • Food Safety, Quality, and GMP Procedures: Adhere to all food safety, quality, personnel safety, and GMP procedures throughout the facility.
Qualifications:
  • Previous Supervisory Experience: Previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • Computer Literacy: Demonstrate computer literacy with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Food Manufacturing Tests: Experience with food manufacturing tests such as water activity, moisture, residual oxygen, leak detection, micro swab/test, pH, NIR, etc.
  • Certifications: Certifications for HACCP, FSPCA/PCQI, and SQF Practitioner.
  • Interpersonal and Time Management Skills: Effective interpersonal skills and organized time management.
