Objective:
The primary responsibility is to manage all aspects of warehouse and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delegate, oversee, and prioritize daily tasks (shipping, receiving, and delivery) for warehouse and transportation staff, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Plan delivery routes to guarantee prompt and efficient order fulfillment for customers.
- Ensure that shipping and receiving activities, including inventory receipt, return processing, and warranty claims, are executed accurately on a daily basis.
- Organize inbound receiving schedules to allow sufficient time for freight to be accurately received and stored each day.
- Manage outbound shipping schedules to ensure that customer orders are delivered according to their specifications.
- Maintain compliance with all necessary certifications mandated by DOT, OSHA, and company safety protocols for warehouse and delivery staff.
- Oversee the organization and presentation of the warehouse to ensure that inventory is both accessible and accurate.
- Ensure inventory precision through effective management of cycle counts, bin locations, and various reporting metrics.
- Supervise the Physical Inventory process.
- Handle warranty documentation and coordinate returns with vendors.
- Facilitate returns, delivery timelines, job site deliveries, and customer pickups in collaboration with team members and service providers.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain strong relationships with freight carriers to ensure timely product delivery and resolution of freight claims for lost or damaged shipments.
- Oversee paid time off (PTO) for warehouse and delivery personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations for warehouse and delivery staff in conjunction with the Distribution Center Manager.
- Assist in the development and management of the annual budget alongside the Distribution Center Manager.
- Lead monthly team meetings to discuss operations and performance.
- Coordinate building maintenance and security measures.
- Participate in after-hours on-call schedules and training sessions.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, lay on the floor, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Work environments may range from as cold as 20 degrees to as hot as 105 degrees. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in shipping and receiving.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
- 3-5 years of experience operating forklifts.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations is a plus.
- Familiarity with Latitude WMS and Sxe/Trend is advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must maintain a satisfactory driving record as per company policies.
- Must qualify for and remain insurable under the company's liability insurance policy.
- Must meet federal and state regulations to operate the required vehicle.
