About the Role

Opendoor is a leading digital real estate company that's revolutionizing the way people buy and sell homes. We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Field Tooling and Safety team, which is responsible for building the tools that our team and trade partners use to manage homes.

This is a unique opportunity to drive impact across the business from pre-acquisition of a home to listing that home post-renovation. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll collaborate across functions to design, build, and release new systems that drive learnings to our business, enabling us to better serve our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with product and design to evaluate, develop, and implement new features, driving the full development lifecycle from idea to release across the frontend and backend.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers, sharing best practices around coding and architecture that support a business at an early growth stage.
  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions as you work with other software engineers, UX designers, and product managers.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to improve development velocity and iteration speed.
Requirements
  • Expertise in Javascript/TypeScript with React on the frontend, and one backend language (we use Ruby and Go).
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering solutions that drive excellence for operationally intensive organizations.

Opendoor offers a comprehensive compensation package, including a competitive salary range of $136,000-$192,000 annually, based on location and qualifications. We also provide a range of benefits, including paid time off, 12 paid holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
