Financial data specialists play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various accounting tasks within an organization. This position is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting department by performing clerical and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have a pleasant demeanor and enjoys working as part of a team.

Responsibilities


  • Financial Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets, including invoices, receipts, and financial transactions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Invoice Processing: Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring proper approval and documentation. Prepare checks or electronic payments, and maintain accurate records of payments made.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and detect any discrepancies. Investigate and resolve any issues related to bank reconciliations.
  • Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Verify the accuracy of expense reports and ensure that all expenses are properly documented.
  • Financial Reports: Assist in preparing financial reports and statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide financial data and analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
  • Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and assisting auditors as needed. Ensure that all financial data and records are accurate and up-to-date, and that all audit requests are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll and maintaining payroll records. Ensure that all payroll data is accurate and up-to-date, and that all payroll-related tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and providing general support to the finance department. Maintain a professional and positive attitude, and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.


Qualifications and Skills


  • An associate degree in accounting or 4-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to perform calculations accurately.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.


Estimated Salary: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
