Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team at Fort Bend ISD. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students with varying disabilities in a high school setting.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesService Delivery
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
  • Prepare and deliver instruction that is sequential, meaningful, and aligned with the general education curriculum.
  • Utilize data collection tools and assessment results to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Implement behavioral strategies and interventions to support students with challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure seamless integration of students with disabilities into the general education classroom.
  • Provide support and accommodations to students with disabilities, including the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and programming.
Compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations related to serving students with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement IEPs that are aligned with state and federal guidelines.
  • Participate in ARD meetings and provide progress reports to parents.
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines related to serving students with disabilities.
Program Support
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills related to serving students with disabilities.
  • Provide support and direction to paraprofessionals regarding the implementation of IEPs and student needs.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in special education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff. A bachelor's degree in special education or a related field is required, and a master's degree is preferred.
