About the Role

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a key member of our Operations team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the success of our New Glenn program. We're seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Leader to oversee the sub-assembly manufacturing process, driving efficiency, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of skilled professionals in the sub-assembly manufacturing process, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, leveraging Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of sub-assemblies into the final vehicle.
  • Champion safety and quality, driving a culture of excellence throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Develop and manage resource plans, authorizing job descriptions, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a direct supervision/leadership role, with a proven track record in aerospace development programs or production lines.
  • BS degree in a related Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Aerospace) with a focus on Manufacturing/Operation Management.
  • Validated knowledge in building or transforming successful production operation organizations and leading large-scale change management initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge and applied experiences in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 15+ years manufacturing experience in aerospace, with a focus on sub-assembly manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business.
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
