Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to shop employees, ensuring effective employee relations and a safe working environment.
  • Plan and assign work, coach and develop employees, and make employment decisions.
  • Maintain effective workflow by monitoring process control points, equipment, and personnel, and implementing cost reductions and reporting procedures.
  • Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, and monitoring progress.
  • Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale, and achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Enforce organization standards and assist in the revision or formation of new policies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on 5S, housekeeping, and equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to management.
  • Manage Non-Conforming Material reports and perform accident investigations and lead corrective actions.
  • Report on inventory levels and manage department priorities.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.

Requirements:

  • High School or GED Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred with 5-7 years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership, performance management, problem-solving, results-driven personality, communication proficiency, time management, and technical capacity.

Working Conditions:

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear, and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Working conditions can be dirty, extreme hot/cold temperatures, and loud noises. Travel is less than 5%.
