Wells Fargo is in search of a Senior Cyber Security Research Consultant. Our Cyber Security division aims to deliver top-tier cyber security risk management. Through a comprehensive framework that encompasses policy, process, operations, personnel, and technology, we safeguard Wells Fargo's infrastructure, corporate data, and customer assets while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws.

The Enterprise Cyber Security team is eager to welcome a proficient cyber security expert to the Offensive Security Research Team (Red Team). This role involves evaluating cloud-based environments for security vulnerabilities in configuration and implementation. Candidates should possess an extensive understanding of data storage, access, and management within cloud systems. This senior position is accountable for leading and executing security evaluations from start to finish. There will be opportunities to contribute to and collaborate on assessments of mission-critical cloud environments that support the daily operations of a large enterprise at scale. This role reports to the Offensive Security Research Team and collaborates closely with our defense partners in a purple team capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects that involve the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of advanced computer network security and protection technologies for corporate information and network systems and applications.
  • Function as a professional ethical penetration tester, utilizing hacking tools to modify or develop proof of concept exploits that replicate the techniques of highly sophisticated attackers.
  • Examine and analyze intricate advanced computer security incident response activities and technical investigations related to information security incidents.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and assign severity ratings by assessing impact and ease of exploitation.
  • Conduct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate information security policies and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Communicate inherent risks to business units, providing meaningful mitigation strategies.
  • Offer leadership to principal engineers and support special projects.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve objectives.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security Research, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, and education.
  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud Security (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile and SecDevOps methodologies.
  • 2+ years of experience in Application Security.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence.
  • 2+ years of experience in Mainframe Security.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
