MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

? In-depth understanding of instructional methodologies specific to specially designed education;

? Comprehensive knowledge of general curriculum standards and developmental benchmarks;

? Strong familiarity with state and federal guidelines governing services for students with disabilities;

? Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Workspace;

? Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities;

? Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in line with applicable laws;

? Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team setting;

? Skill in motivating and engaging students;

? Competence in supervising student safety and well-being;

? Awareness of diverse student backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles;

? Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, utilizing various techniques to facilitate effective information exchange;

? Ability to cultivate and sustain positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

? Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

? Must possess or be eligible for a Professional Educators License in an Exceptional Children’s teaching area;

? Valid motor vehicle operator's license as per state requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

? Certifications in First Aid and CPR;

? Certification in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities, utilizing assessment data to make necessary updates.

2. Apply instructional strategies and monitoring tools to deliver customized education.

3. Support students in achieving curriculum objectives and IEP goals.

4. Utilize diverse teaching methods and adapt materials to meet individual student needs.

5. Oversee student behavior, maintain classroom discipline, and instruct students in appropriate behavioral techniques.

6. Assess student work and progress, adjusting instruction as needed, and manage reporting of grades.

7. Participate in IEP meetings as a collaborative team member.

8. Stay informed about educational trends and best practices through professional development opportunities.

9. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to operate various office equipment, including computers and copiers. Effective communication skills are essential. The role may require lifting and moving objects within specified weight limits.

WORK SETTING:

Work will be conducted in both classroom and office environments, necessitating interaction with staff, students, parents, and the community.
