At Houston Methodist, we are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing basic research duties under the supervision of a Principal Investigator.

This position may involve working in a laboratory setting or conducting computer-based research that supports our department's mission.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in research and a passion for studying changes in the extracellular matrix and inflammation in the aging heart.

The ideal candidate will have experience in handling mice, RNA and protein extraction, and primary cell isolation and culture.

Responsibilities will include participating in literature searches, designing and conducting experiments, presenting data in seminars and meetings, and co-authoring publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Principal Investigator in maintaining the functionality and operations of the laboratory.
  • Promote a positive work environment and lead the team to achieve optimal department results.
  • Collaborate with department members by actively communicating and reporting data.
  • Role model effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Contribute to improving department scores for employee engagement.
