Job Summary:

Paladin is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to maintain their independence and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care and Support: Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, while promoting their dignity and autonomy.
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support individuals in performing ADLs, including meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
  • Community Integration: Encourage and facilitate participation in community activities, social events, and educational programs to promote socialization and skill development.
  • Communication and Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of individual progress, goals, and challenges, while communicating effectively with team members, family members, and healthcare professionals.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other Direct Support Professionals, supervisors, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., social work, special education) an asset.
  • Experience: One to two years of experience in social services, special education, or working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patience, empathy, and understanding when working with individuals with disabilities; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
