Position Overview:
Mendocino Community Health Center (MCHC) is in search of a full-time Clinical Nutrition Specialist who embodies accountability, empathy, and collaboration. In this role, you will have the chance to significantly impact the lives of our patients. Your responsibilities will include creating personalized nutrition plans, providing counseling, and offering specialized support for various health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, pregnancy, and kidney disease. You will travel to different MCHC locations to ensure our services are accessible to those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement culturally appropriate nutrition education programs and counseling techniques for MCHC staff; create necessary educational materials.
- Educate and guide patients from diverse backgrounds on selecting and preparing nutritious foods that meet their physical, financial, social, and emotional needs, while respecting personal preferences and cultural practices.
- Deliver specialized education to patients managing diabetes, obesity, pregnancy, kidney disease, and other related conditions.
- Travel to various MCHC locations as required.

Minimum Requirements:
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics.
- At least one year of experience as a registered dietitian.
- Eligibility to provide medically necessary Medical Nutrition Therapy reimbursable by Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC).
- Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE)
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, fluent.
$61,006 to $115,648 Annually, DOE
