About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to patients of all ages.
  • Monitor and wean patients from oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, and analyze and report arterial blood gases and EKGs.
  • Deliver intermittent therapy and assist with changing artificial airways, as ordered by a physician and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
  • Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (for therapists working in the NICU).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
