Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
  • Review and document all clinical information regarding each patient.
  • Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of patient served in assigned area.
Requirements
  • Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS obtained in 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting.
Work Environment

The Respiratory Therapist will work in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The incumbent may be required to travel throughout and between facilities.
