Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Cayuga Counseling Services Inc is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing exceptional mental health services to our clients. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, collaborating with our multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose and treat adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of behavioral health disorders.
- Medication Management: Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue medications and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in accordance with regulations and scope of practice.
- Treatment Planning: Collaborate with therapists, medical director, and other treatment team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating trauma-informed and best practices into treatment interventions.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, and outcome measures. Communicate effectively with clients, guardians, relatives, and significant others as clinically appropriate.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination and delivery.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing education, training, and in-services to stay current with national guidelines, clinical policies, and procedures.
- Licensure and Certification: Current and valid licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in New York State and DEA license to prescribe medication.
- Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Clearances: Cleared by the Office of Mental Health, Office of Medicaid Inspector General, and the Statewide Central Database.
