Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team at the College of Lake County. As an Accounting Associate, you will be responsible for processing departmental payment requests, preparing payment checks, reconciling payments, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payment requests and payment checks
  • Reconcile payments and maintain accurate records
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare and distribute 1099 forms
  • Respond to requests for information and perform database queries
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years' general office experience OR an Associate's degree required with two years of general office experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work experience in accounting or bookkeeping
  • Knowledge or experience with Microsoft Word and spreadsheets
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
