Claims Processor I/II

The Claims Processor is a key member of our Insurance Services & Placement team, responsible for processing new and existing claims and all correspondence related to claims. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process new losses in a timely manner, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and submitted to insurance carriers.
- Determine coverage and send documentation to insurance carriers, following up to ensure proper documentation of acknowledgements, determinations, and final settlements.
- Review all determinations and discuss with carrier adjustors or TPAs to ensure accurate and fair claim settlements.
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all claims processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of insurance policies and policy interpretation to assist clients and carriers with claim settlement.
- Assist Account Service Managers, Producers, and Clients with claims questions or issues, providing expert guidance and support.
- Research complex claim questions and/or situations to ensure a favorable outcome or correct/updated information can be provided.
- Escalate complex claim questions to the VP or Manager of Insurance Services and Placement for further guidance and support.
- Complete claims reporting to Account Service Managers, Producers, Clients, and Proctor Loan Protector Leadership, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Assist with daily workflow coordination and carrier downloads, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.
- Act as a first contact resource for all team members, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Complete project work as assigned by other team members and managers, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Assist with complex problem-solving within the team and with other departments, leveraging expertise and knowledge to drive solutions.
- Actively participate in the training of new employees and retraining of current employees, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Minimum 5-7 years of insurance industry experience, with claim experience preferred (agency processing a plus).
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with Insurance Agency Management System (Applied or AMS).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Technical learning with a strong desire to learn and acquire new skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
