CNA Caregiver

The Resident Support Specialist at Elderwood assists with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing support services and therapeutic programming to meet their physical and emotional needs.

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including toileting, transferring, ambulation, eating assistance, and clothing change.
• Respond promptly to residents' needs and requests.
• Participate in therapeutic and social activities designed to enhance residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
• Assist with meal service and feeding assistance as needed.
• Provide mental stimulation and encourage participation in social programming.
• Transport residents and facilitate their involvement in activities.
• Conduct informal programs and offer input on daily and monthly resident progress.
• Notify the Licensed Nurse of changes in residents' conditions or needs.
• Follow the plan of care and report changes as necessary.
• Maintain facility standards for resident care, including protecting residents' rights and ensuring a respectful environment.

• Eighteen years of age required.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Registration in the State Nurse Aide Registry required.
• Active on the State Nursing Aide Registry with no findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment, and misappropriation of property.
• Experience with dementia population desired.

• Ability to verbally communicate with residents, families, team members, and other departments.
• Ability to read and understand task assignments and report verbally and record care in writing.
• Display of genuine concern for the elderly and a dependable, patient, and compassionate attitude towards residents.
