Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Division Director and the clinical oversight of a registered nurse, you will be responsible for preparing the surgical environment and the patient for procedures, while assisting the surgical team throughout the operation.

As a Certified Surgical Technologist at The Orthopedic Hospital, your expertise will be essential in delivering exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the operating room maintains a sterile environment
  • Conduct sterilization of surgical instruments and the operating area
  • Assist in patient preparation for surgical procedures
  • Organize, count, and arrange surgical instruments and equipment
  • Support the surgical team by passing instruments and assisting in retracting tissues
  • Perform counts of all instruments and tools utilized during surgery
  • Apply dressings to surgical sites post-procedure
  • Safely dispose of needles and gauze

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Certification:

Must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or a program provided by the US Armed Forces
  • If graduated after a specified date, certification (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology is required within a designated timeframe
  • Annual maintenance of 15 continuing education hours related to surgical technology is necessary for continued employment
  • Current CPR certification is required within a specified period after hiring
