Job Overview
The objective of this role is to assist in the upkeep of the company's maintenance initiatives, concentrating on both equipment and facility maintenance while adhering to all food safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical issues related to plant machinery (including mechanical drive systems, HVAC, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems).
- Identify and resolve electrical faults in plant equipment (covering wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical setups, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives).
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all machinery within the plant.
- Manage building maintenance tasks and repairs (such as air conditioning, lighting, and forklift maintenance).
- Perform minor repairs on equipment to mitigate extended downtime until comprehensive repairs can be executed.
- Notify relevant personnel of any food safety and quality concerns.
- Adhere to all food safety protocols, training, policies, and procedures.
- Carry out additional job-related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- Associate degree in electronics or maintenance mechanics, or 3+ years of experience in a maintenance mechanic position.
- Proficient in repair or preventive maintenance within hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shops, electrical systems, or electronics.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Understanding of lockout/tagout procedures.
- Knowledge of boiler operations.
- Experience handling ammonia, freon, or other cooling agents.
- Capability to perform stick or TIG welding for minor repairs.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to resolve issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in varied situations with limited standardization.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal oversight as well as collaboratively within a team to fulfill assigned tasks.
- Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
