Averitt Express is seeking a CDL-A Dedicated Local Truck Driver to join our team. As a dedicated local driver, you will enjoy consistent customers and a predictable schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials to and from various locations.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload cargo, and count freight to ensure accuracy.
  • Complete fuel tickets and obtain sales leads to increase revenue.
  • Hook and unhook trailers, and enter and exit commercial motor vehicles safely.

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay with an average of $1,296 per week and a starting pay of $0.72 per mile.
  • Average 1,800 miles per week with 1-4 stops per week.
  • Home daily, Monday through Friday, with a start time between 5-6 a.m.
  • Excellent insurance coverage, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, and hearing coverage.
  • Profit Sharing plan to share in the rewards of our efforts.
  • Referral rewards for successful referrals.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Class A CDL and at least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and live within a 75-mile radius.
  • No convictions for reckless driving, DUI, or suspensions/revocations within the past 5 years.
  • No serious violations within the previous 12 months.
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years.
  • No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years.

Essential Functions:

  • Open and close trailer doors.
  • Count freight.
  • Complete fuel tickets.
  • Obtain sales leads.
  • Hook and unhook trailers.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections.
  • Drive.
  • Regularly attend work.
  • Enter and exit commercial motor vehicles.
  • Enter and exit the rear of a trailer from ground level.
