Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking an innovative leader to drive the development and enhancement of experiential learning opportunities while cultivating strategic partnerships with employers. This essential role will lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive framework for experiential education, promoting impactful programs that benefit students across multiple disciplines.

As the primary contact for employer engagement, the Director will establish and maintain crucial relationships with organizations in various sectors. Utilizing strong communication and interpersonal skills, the individual will build trust and secure valuable internship, co-op, and job placement opportunities for students and alumni. This position will also oversee the growth of a dynamic ecosystem for experiential learning, identifying and launching new initiatives while amplifying the visibility of existing programs. Through systematic tracking, reporting, and assessment, the Director will evaluate student learning outcomes and program effectiveness, ensuring ongoing enhancement.

The Director will serve as a committed mentor and advocate for students, offering personalized guidance and coaching. By leading workshops and instructing the internship course, they will equip students with essential skills to navigate the professional landscape confidently. This role also requires effective leadership, as the Director will chair advisory councils and boards, fostering collaboration across departments and aligning strategic objectives. Responsibilities include managing site visits, overseeing specific programs, and allocating resources for various initiatives.

The Director will actively engage in various facets of the Career Services department, including facilitating recruitment events, career fairs, workshops, and classroom presentations, while contributing to data analysis and assessment initiatives.

Employer Engagement Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary representative for employer relations, establishing and nurturing connections with key stakeholders to facilitate recruitment of students for experiential and job opportunities.
  • Collaborate with employers and marketing teams to develop effective strategies and materials for experiential education and employer engagement.
  • Lead the Employer Advisory Board, guiding strategic direction and fostering engagement.
  • Work with campus partners and local community organizations to build employer partnerships.
  • Provide educational opportunities for employers regarding best practices in internships and market trends.
  • Compile and analyze data on employer engagement activities and assess their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with alumni relations to enhance career readiness and experiential education.
  • Serve as the representative of career services within the community and among employer partners.
  • Monitor job market trends and analyze the effectiveness of career services.
  • Stay informed on best practices and participate in professional development activities.
Experiential Education Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive system to collect and analyze experiential data across all academic divisions.
  • Manage the creation and implementation of internship curricula for students and host sites.
  • Design innovative experiential learning programs leveraging institutional resources and industry partnerships.
  • Oversee metrics of success and conduct ongoing assessments aligned with institutional learning goals.
  • Create workshops and online content to maximize student learning, particularly for underrepresented groups.
  • Manage specific programs and plan employer site visits.
  • Align marketing and outreach efforts for experiential opportunities with institutional goals.
  • Provide holistic career development through coaching sessions and engaging presentations.
  • Represent career services as needed in various settings.
  • Contribute to the development of assessment reports through data analysis.
Education / Experience:

A Master's degree with three to five years of experience in developing and managing internship or experiential learning opportunities in a higher education setting is required. Relevant degrees include Higher Education Administration, Human Resources, or related fields, with at least one year of experience in a career center.
