Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Physician Human Resource Consultant III, Disability Management to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in facilitating the return to work process for employees with injuries or illnesses, independently and with disability job accommodation requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disability Management and Return to Work: Facilitate the return to work process for employees with injuries or illnesses, independently and with disability job accommodation requests.
  • Case Management: Provide case management, with some guidance, and serve as a resource to employees, supervisors, and managers to modified duty, disability leave, and workers compensation.
  • Employee Support: Provide support to internal and external stakeholders on diverse HR specialties, including equal opportunity/affirmative action, disability management, recruitment and hiring options, compensation, employee benefits, and training.
  • Organizational Change: Assist in the implementation of organizational change efforts by identifying requirements, assessing information to identify solutions to obstacles and mitigating risks, and providing input in the creation or revision of change management plans.
  • Employee Relations: Conduct research and provide recommendations and assistance on employment-related regulations, both at the State and Federal level, and interpret company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • HR Investigation: Assist with HR investigation efforts by collecting and analyzing data, identifying misalignment with desired compliance actions, conducting interviews, determining action steps for resolution, creating appropriate documentation, and providing input on corrective action plans.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Support reporting of Company employee information and external benchmarks by compiling, completing, and interpreting reports and analyses, and identifying key insights to assist in the development of solutions for HR issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in return to work, disability management, Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), case management, workers compensation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), leaves of absence programs, or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Science, Public Administration, or related field and Minimum three (3) years experience in human resources or business operations. Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years experience as an HR generalist or working across multiple HR disciplines.
  • Two (2) years health care experience.
