Captura is a pioneering technology start-up company dedicated to developing globally scalable carbon removal solutions to support a sustainable future for the world's climate. Our mission is to harness the power of electrochemical concepts to enable gigaton-scalable solutions for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere via direct ocean capture.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Leader to join our team as the sole HR resource. This role will be critical in establishing the foundation of our HR department, including recruiting, onboarding, training, compliance, payroll, and employee engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a strong team culture focused on innovation, diversity, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement scalable recruiting processes to ensure consistency and a focus on diversity.
  • Ensure compliance of the business by regularly updating and posting company policies to meet federal and state requirements.
  • Establish a performance management program and manage the annual process to ensure it is streamlined and supports a culture of transparency, feedback, and growth.
  • Support employee engagement and work closely with the growing business to ensure they have the support and feedback they need.
  • Collect and analyze data such as diversity metrics, retention, and employee engagement results.
  • Partner with Captura vendors to support payroll, benefits, and time keeping.
  • Track compensation bands to ensure consistency across the business and alignment with the market.
  • Implement company programs as needed to support engagement, performance, and retention.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • At least five (5) years of human resource experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.
  • Knowledge of Rippling a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple activities concurrently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated to work in climate tech, emerging CO2 capture industry in an early-stage commercial environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Compensation:
  • Competitive base salary $120,000 to $160,000.
  • Variable Pay (10%) with potential payout of 150%.
