About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at 8 Cylinder Consulting. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing high-quality bulk ingredients for our production needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase all bulk and bag ingredients for production, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  • Categorize and list all raw products by volume (High, Mid, or Low) and communicate this list to our management team on a monthly basis.
  • Negotiate raw ingredient pricing on a regular basis, taking into account market trends and vendor performance.
  • Communicate negotiated pricing (Before/After) to our management team on a monthly basis.
  • Update pricing in our software system on all purchases, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Responsible for negotiating contracts with vendors, reviewing product quality, and ensuring delivery times meet our expectations.
  • Work closely with our QA department when evaluating new vendors and products.
  • Study market trends and future availability of materials and goods, providing insights to our management team on a monthly basis.
  • Update and replace vendors based on performance, service, and pricing, communicating changes to our management team on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare all requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain all purchasing records, both digitally and in paper form.
  • Maintain logistics and supply chain management to ensure proper stock of ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure that all goals and objectives are met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a purchasing manager or similar role in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office modules is required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet multiple tasks, deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
