Job Overview

Position Title: Accounting Supervisor

Summary:

The Accounting Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing the finance department's General Ledger and reporting functions for SEEL's various programs. This position is integral to the financial reporting process and will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead ongoing process enhancements and projects by implementing best practices for financial reporting.
  • Assist in budget reporting and manage all general ledger activities.
  • Conduct program planning analysis, focusing on profitability, cost efficiency, and resource allocation.
  • Prepare monthly and consolidated financial statements in a timely manner during the month-end close process.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger through monthly account analysis and reconciliations, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Provide analytical reviews of financial data for the Accounting Manager and Owner Partners.
  • Maintain and monitor the Company’s internal controls, ensuring they are executed properly and adjusted as necessary.
  • Develop and refine policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Stay informed on changes in accounting regulations and standards.
  • Deliver presentations to support program execution and delivery.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional internal client service skills.
  • Thorough understanding of contemporary accounting practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting operations effectively.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in various accounting functions.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent education with 3-5 years of relevant experience (Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of experience preferred).
  • Experience collaborating with Executive and Senior Management.
  • Strong listening skills to gather and convey information effectively through excellent communication.
  • Team-oriented with the capability to manage multiple tasks while prioritizing effectively.
  • Adaptability to changing work conditions.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel for reporting and ad hoc analysis.

Work Environment:

  • Standard office hours with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
  • Exposure to typical office noise levels from phones and colleague interactions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and prolonged computer use.
  • Manual dexterity for operating a keyboard and handling documents.
  • Visual acuity for reading computer screens and printed materials.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to lift and carry documents weighing up to 15 pounds.
