We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at WestCare Inc. The successful candidate will provide support and guidance to residents in a residential treatment setting, promoting a safe and healthy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and monitor residents, reporting any unusual changes or incidents.
- Facilitate mentoring, discipline, and safety, as well as shift and overnight observations.
- Complete support documentation and provide information to third parties as required.
- Utilize approved crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations and ensure resident, staff, and visitor safety.
- Implement the behavioral/level system and participate in 24/7 coverage.
- Transport residents to work, school, and appointments as needed.
- Monitor resident whereabouts and ensure they remain on the property or have necessary paperwork.
- Assist in implementing recreational activities and ensure the facility is clean and in working order.
- Process and administer resident medication according to procedure.
- Document incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Relevant certification(s) and/or licensure preferred.
- Active CPR Certification preferred at the time of hire.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience working in a behavioral health setting or similar position required.
- Work is primarily performed in a residential treatment setting.
- Some outdoor activities and travel between multiple locations may be required.
- Regular and prompt attendance is required throughout employment.
