Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at WestCare Inc. The successful candidate will provide support and guidance to residents in a residential treatment setting, promoting a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor residents, reporting any unusual changes or incidents.
  • Facilitate mentoring, discipline, and safety, as well as shift and overnight observations.
  • Complete support documentation and provide information to third parties as required.
  • Utilize approved crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations and ensure resident, staff, and visitor safety.
  • Implement the behavioral/level system and participate in 24/7 coverage.
  • Transport residents to work, school, and appointments as needed.
  • Monitor resident whereabouts and ensure they remain on the property or have necessary paperwork.
  • Assist in implementing recreational activities and ensure the facility is clean and in working order.
  • Process and administer resident medication according to procedure.
  • Document incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Relevant certification(s) and/or licensure preferred.
  • Active CPR Certification preferred at the time of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience working in a behavioral health setting or similar position required.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily performed in a residential treatment setting.
  • Some outdoor activities and travel between multiple locations may be required.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is required throughout employment.
