Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. in Newark, NJ. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing top-notch security services to our clients, ensuring the safety and security of their personnel, assets, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe and report any suspicious activity or behavior to the Port Authority Police.
  • Asset Protection: Protect the areas assigned to you, enforcing rules and regulations as set forth by the Authority.
  • Post Orders: Familiarize yourself with all post orders and maintain an operationally efficient post.
  • Assistance and Support: Help people who require assistance or information, provided doing so does not distract from or prevent successful completion of security services.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Conduct vehicle inspections as required.
  • Emergency Response: Immediately report to PAPD in case of emergencies such as unauthorized access, physical altercations, or fires.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Relief Personnel: Relief personnel are required for this position.
  • Uniform and Appearance: Adhere to the uniform and appearance guidelines while on duty.
  • Communication Devices: Do not use personal cell/wireless telephone and/or communication devices while on post, except as approved by the Manager.
  • Security Certifications: Be certified as guards by New Jersey State.
Work Environment and Schedule
  • Job Location: Job operates in client sites which could be indoors or outdoors.
  • Physical Demands: Position requires prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities.
  • Availability: Open availability Nights, Weekends, Holidays and overtime as directed.
