Software Engineer for Nuclear Applications

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and develop your skills and expertise. **Job Responsibilities** As a scientific software developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, verifying, deploying, and maintaining engineering software, as well as porting legacy engineering software to modern computing architectures. You will also be working with computational scientists to integrate new computational technologies into engineering workflows. Other job responsibilities include troubleshooting engineers' software issues, refactoring software to improve capability and performance, and developing software with both compiled and interpreted scientific computing languages. **Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill** Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field. **Preferred Skills** Exposure to (or experience commensurate with the job level) in all of the following areas: * Software design and development workflows and utilities (e.g., unit testing, continuous integration, version control, debugging, profiling, compiler operation/optimization). * Developing software with both compiled (e.g., C, C++, Fortran) and interpreted (e.g., Python) scientific computing languages. * Working independently as well as in interdisciplinary teams with minimal supervision. * Publishing (journals, technical reports, etc.) and presenting technical material. Experience in at least one of the following areas: * Parallel programming and/or running parallel jobs on supercomputing systems. * Domain knowledge of nuclear reactor physics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, or solid mechanics. **Benefits** Health, Dental, Vision & Voluntary Benefits.
