Nurse Practitioner

UVA Health is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Bull Run Family Medicine in Manassas, VA.
Job Summary:The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide primary health care and perform selective medical services under the direction of practice physicians. The incumbent will work with patients to provide health and illness prevention, and will be responsible for synthesizing data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plans.
Responsibilities:- Provide primary health care and perform selective medical services under the direction of practice physicians.
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
- Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Collaborate with other departments or disciplines to achieve desired quality outcomes.
- Monitor quality of core processes in department.
- Apply the principles of safety and infection control to ensure the safety of all patients.
- Demonstrate superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work within a team to achieve patient and team goals.
- Share and initiate regular and professional communication with co-workers.
- Participate in regular staff meetings.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes based on feedback from staff and customers.
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
- Ability to work with management team and physicians.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills.
The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.
Other:- May require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention.
- On call responsibilities as directed.
- Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.
