Position Overview:
The Nursing Operations Manager will oversee the clinical nursing practices and patient care within the designated unit.

This role ensures continuity in decision-making and adherence to nursing policies, procedures, standards, and objectives.

Additionally, the manager will coordinate the interdisciplinary team, including nursing, social services, activities, and psychology, to achieve established goals in accordance with organizational policies and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular rounds on the units.
  • Delegate staff assignments for patient care while promoting consistent care standards.
  • Engage with other management personnel to address unit-specific issues.
  • Investigate clinical practice challenges and collaborate with the team to devise solutions.
  • Work with the unit team to develop and implement specific projects, ensuring staff are aware of performance indicators and expectations.
  • Ensure documentation meets established standards and assist nursing staff with related issues.
  • Enforce adherence to Health System, Administrative, and Nursing Policies, assessing the impact of changes on unit operations.
  • Foster a safe environment for all employees, patients, residents, visitors, and clients.
  • Provide recommendations to administration regarding clinical and safety needs.
  • Address concerns promptly and follow up with the appropriate management personnel.
  • Facilitate orientation programs to warmly welcome new employees and support their development.
  • Mentor both new and existing staff, providing constructive feedback.
  • Assess personnel needs to ensure quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with staffing offices to adjust staffing patterns as necessary.
  • Resolve conflicts in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Adhere to established safety practices and standards, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Oversee department staffing schedules and collaborate with the talent team for recruitment.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide developmental feedback to employees.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities, reviewing and following up on quality measures.
  • Serve as a role model for patients, residents, families, and staff, maintaining professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Registered Nurse license with a minimum of 3 years of experience; BSN preferred or LPN with 5 years of experience.
  • Previous management experience is advantageous.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
  • Proficiency in computer usage is preferred.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the emotional, social, mental health, and spiritual needs of residents.
