Position Overview

We are in search of a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Financial Accountant to become a vital part of our Corporate Financial Accounting division. This position is essential for enhancing and overseeing our financial operations, guaranteeing precision in financial documentation, and contributing to the overall fiscal stability of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a robust comprehension of accounting standards, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the aptitude to collaborate effectively across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Documentation:
(1) Prepare and scrutinize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring adherence to GAAP and organizational policies.
(2) Assist in the formulation of consolidated financial reports for the organization and its subsidiaries.
(3) Evaluate financial data to uncover trends, discrepancies, and potential enhancement areas.

General Ledger Oversight:
(1) Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring precision and thoroughness.
(2) Lead the month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance assessments.
(3) Supervise intercompany transactions and reconciliations.

Audit Coordination and Compliance:
(1) Facilitate and assist with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and addressing auditor inquiries.
(2) Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
(3) Maintain current knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

Operational Enhancements:
(1) Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
(2) Engage in the development and execution of new accounting systems and processes.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:
(1) Collaborate closely with the finance team and other departments to support business initiatives and ensure accurate financial reporting.
(2) Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting personnel.
(3) Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  1. Exceptional attention to detail.
  2. Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the capacity to present ideas and materials clearly and concisely.
  3. Capability to cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with management and staff.
  4. Ability to make timely and effective decisions and achieve results through proficient time management skills.
  5. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in computer applications, including mastery of Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with internal teams and senior management.
  7. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  8. Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary to meet objectives.
  9. Demonstrated ability to exemplify and embody the organization's core competencies.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field is required.
  • CPA, CMA, or master's degree is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience with JD Edwards or SAP is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience is required.

Working Environment:

Work is performed in an office setting, involving frequent periods of sitting and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds independently, along with stooping, reaching, and bending to fulfill accounting clerical and filing requirements.
