Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at ResCare Community Living. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care to clients, following their personalized plans and promoting their dignity and independence.
  • Monitor clients' vital signs and report any abnormalities to the case manager and physician.
  • Administer medications, feedings, oxygen, and other treatments as needed, and document the results.
  • Collaborate with other care professionals, such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Ensure infection control policies are maintained, report any communicable diseases or infections, and implement infection control procedures.
  • Accurately document nursing actions and communicate with family members, case managers, and physicians to ensure seamless care.
  • Order supplies and medications as needed to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Monitor incidents and ensure timely completion of incident reports, informing case managers and examining individuals involved.
  • Maintain medical equipment and report any faulty equipment for repair.
Requirements
  • Completed post-secondary coursework to facilitate licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Knowledge of individual service plans, including understanding of client rights and health needs.
  • Proof of current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in good standing from the state(s) of practice.
  • CPR certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy, and compassion.
  • In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations.
  • Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for several medical conditions.
