Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the general ledger and ensuring the timely and accurate financial closing of our organization’s accounts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Oversight of month-end closing processes
  • Conducting account and bank reconciliations
  • Recording payroll transactions
  • Supporting external financial reporting

This position will assist the Controller with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and various accounting initiatives.


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess not only technical accounting skills but also exceptional organizational and communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with external auditors and tax professionals. A successful track record in budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes is essential, along with the capability to draft and implement accounting policies and procedures.

Key qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, with a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; additional experience may substitute for formal education
  • Demonstrated expertise in general accounting and payroll functions, as well as in developing and executing accounting policies and workflows
  • Familiarity with government accounting systems and experience in data file management; knowledge of Unanet financials is advantageous
  • High level of accuracy in data entry and attention to detail
  • Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse teams
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with sound judgment and openness to feedback
  • Able to independently and collaboratively solve problems and support organizational change
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Compensation and Benefits

BCT Partners offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $75,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Our benefits include subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage, a fully vested 401k plan with company matching, life and disability insurance, and a strong emphasis on work-life balance.


Work Environment
