Job Title: Dining Service Associate - Part Time Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and friendly Dining Service Associate to join our team at Taylor Glen A Thrive More Community. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our residents and guests, ensuring their satisfaction with food and beverage offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet residents and guests, present them with menus, and inform them about special items and menu changes.
  • Take orders from residents/guests on order-taking pads or handheld Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
  • Fill in for absent staff as needed.
  • Punch orders on POS machine, enter special requirements, and communicate with guests.
  • Coordinate with bus person/kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and resident/guest satisfaction.
  • Serve food and beverages according to course of order.
  • Observe residents/guests, ensuring their satisfaction with food and service.
  • Promptly respond to resident/guest requests.
  • Maintain proper dining experience, deliver items, fulfill customer needs, offer desserts/drinks, remove courses, replenish utensils/refill glasses.
  • Adhere to grooming/appearance standards consistently.
  • Assist bus persons with stocking/maintaining restaurant par stock levels/side station.
  • Help other areas, such as answering telephones/completing financial transactions for Take-Out.
  • Close shift on POS terminal.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/equivalent preferred.
  • Previous serving experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral communication skills required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills required.

Working Environment:

  • Stands on feet for long periods while preparing during/after meal service.
  • May work odd hours like late evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Endures hot temperatures, loud noises, and some stress in commercial kitchen environment.
  • May sustain occasional minor cuts/burns/bruises on the job.
