Nurse Next Door Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Nurse Next Door. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality care to our clients in the comfort of their own homes.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant will work under the supervision of our Care Designer or a nurse to provide personal care services as outlined in a care plan written by a licensed health professional. This includes observing clients, reporting observations, and documenting care performed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care services as directed by the Care Designer or Nurse, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assist clients with feeding, if necessary, and take and record vital signs.
  • Support good skin care to prevent skin breakdown and assist clients with active and passive range of motions.
  • Observe clients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any changes to the Care Designer.
  • Document observed changes and assist clients in the self-administration of medication.
  • Perform light housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
  • Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Registered on the Idaho State Health Care Aide Registry
  • Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience preferable
  • Certified in CPR
  • Criminal background check clearance
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with the organization's requirements
Job Limitations:

The Certified Nursing Assistant will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the State's Nurse Practice Act. Specifically, the Certified Nursing Assistant will not administer medications, obtain physician's orders, or perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge, and skill of a licensed nurse.
