Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and splice fiber optic cable to ensure high-quality connections.
  • Operate OTDR and fusion splicing equipment to test and verify fiber optic cable connections.
  • Read and interpret fiber matrices to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Collaborate with our team to complete daily production reports and document work performed.
  • Use hand tools, ladders, and equipment to assist in the completion of assigned projects.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of related work experience in telecommunications or a related field.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment, including wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, forklifts, saws, and other specialized equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of telecom construction equipment, including aerial lifts, dozers, lashers, meters, plows, and other specialized equipment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, drug test, and DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for at least 2 years.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.).
  • Lift/carry 80 lbs. regularly as needed with or without assistance.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures, inclement weather, and adverse driving conditions.
