As a key member of the healthcare team, you will deliver professional nursing care, applying the nursing process in line with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.

You will demonstrate performance aligned with the Medical Center's Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.

Flexibility in adapting to changing systems is essential; you are expected to exhibit quality and effectiveness in your work habits and clinical practice, treating co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team with dignity and respect.

You will uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and relevant state, federal, and local laws.
As a leader within the healthcare team, you will mentor, orient, and coach others in unit-specific operations and patient care activities.
You will share responsibility and authority with subordinates and hold them accountable for their performance.
It is crucial to prioritize, delegate, and supervise work assignments appropriately to ensure the completion of patient care activities.
Compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice is mandatory.

Nursing Process:


Contribute to the development of individualized care plans that reflect assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of outcomes.

Ensure that the care plan incorporates multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education.

Ensure that the plan reflects admission or outpatient data, ongoing findings, age-appropriate care, cultural needs, and appropriate acuity.

Ensure that care meets established standards of practice.
In outpatient settings, identify barriers and needs for patient/family education that will support the outpatient medical management plan.

Ensure that patients understand the purpose, side effects, and administration instructions for medications both in the hospital and at discharge.


Patient Care Experience:
Adhere to customer service standards as defined by the Service Area, Medical Center, and specific department.

Provide an exceptional patient care experience by actively listening to the needs of patients and their families and taking responsibility for addressing those needs.

Aim to exceed member expectations in patient care experiences.

Team Collaboration:
Be recognized as an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others.
Address difficult or conflict situations constructively and seek appropriate assistance when needed.
Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees, registry staff, students, and other team members.
Attend all mandatory meetings, in-services, and staff meetings as required, and actively participate in departmental professional development.
Engage in assessing current and future unit learning needs and contribute to the development of an annual education plan.
Stay informed about activities on the unit and make recommendations for improvements.
Report to the assigned area promptly, being present and available for report at the beginning of your shift.
Support a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment through unit-based teams.
Organize work to minimize the use of overtime.
Utilize payroll and non-payroll resources to their maximum potential.

1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Level III NICU or successful completion of KP Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) course or approved equivalent within prior 12 months.
