Job Summary:

USGP is seeking a highly skilled Medical Care Specialist to provide primary or specialty medical care with the cognizance or supervision of a physician. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a regularly appointed clinic, providing immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems, and serving as the primary care manager (PCM) for a panel of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary or specialty medical care with the cognizance or supervision of a physician.
  • Manage a regularly appointed clinic, compatible with workload.
  • Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur.
  • Serve as the primary care manager (PCM) for a panel of patients, defined as the enrolled population of pediatric and adult patients age 2 years and older.
  • Be responsible for the management of the health and wellness of assigned patients.

Requirements:
  • Must be a graduate Physician Assistant qualified by academic and practical education to provide patient services as a physician extender under supervision of a physician.
  • Must have at least 24 months of experience as a Physician Assistant within the last 36 months.
  • Basic understanding of utilization management, data/cost analysis concepts, and medical informatics are preferred.
  • Membership in professional organizations is encouraged.
  • Computer skills in data management and Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are desirable.

Certifications and Licensure:
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Committee on Certification Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
  • Must maintain a full, valid, unrestricted, and current license.
