Crisis Case Manager

Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Crisis Case Manager to join our team at Kanza Mental Health. The successful candidate will provide crisis stabilization support and observation as part of a mobile crisis response team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide crisis stabilization support and observation to individuals in crisis, utilizing positive approaches and maintaining a therapeutic setting.
  2. Manage crisis situations effectively, assessing triggers and precursors to symptoms and risk factors to assist in stabilizing crisis symptoms.
  3. Collaborate with medical and law enforcement personnel as needed, while protecting confidentiality in accordance with state and federal laws.
  4. Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, working in conjunction with therapists, case managers, peer support specialists, medication providers, and crisis care staff.
  5. Assist with admissions, discharges, frequent safety checks, appointments, and transport of individuals.
  6. Complete all paperwork required, including progress notes, incident reports, timesheets, mileage, etc., by the end of each shift.
  7. Timely attendance and punctuality to all scheduled shifts, trainings, supervision, etc.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in human services or equivalent experience.
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age, proficient in the English language, and able to pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
  3. Experience working with individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), or Substance Use Disorders (SUD) is preferred.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Proficient in the use of computers and electronic health record systems, required to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Working Environment: The environment requires frequent movement around different settings, including office, community, and home settings. This position may require the use of a company vehicle for crisis transportation. Crisis Case Managers may be exposed to all low socio-economic homes as well as aggressive situations.

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience and Kanza MHGC salary structure.

Primary Location: No office assignment required – Kanza office location is available for use as necessary.
