Automotive Repair Technician II

As an Automotive Repair Specialist II at CarMax, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer experiences by performing mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles. You will work under general supervision, adhering to all standards described in the CarMax Certified Quality Inspection Process and the Retail Repair Process.
Key Responsibilities- Execute CarMax Standardized work with precision and attention to detail.
- Diagnose and repair engine issues, ensuring optimal performance and drivability.
- Repair electrical systems, manual drive train and axle systems, and brake systems.
- Perform 4-wheel alignments and steering and suspension repairs.
- Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet CarMax Quality Standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to CarMax 5S standards.
- Interact with customers in a friendly and service-oriented manner, providing exceptional customer service.
- Consult with customers regarding needed repairs and review repair orders for accuracy.
- Closing and invoicing repair orders, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
- Explain all recommendations and repairs to customers, ensuring their understanding.
- Collect service payments and manage cash, maintaining a high level of integrity.
- Locate and receive shipments of parts, maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Receive and process vehicles being transferred into or out of inventory.
- Set up and coordinate handling of vehicles with on-lot and off-lot sublet vendors.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, performing multiple duties with precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with customers and associates in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
- Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
- Physical ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and work in a combination of office and outdoor environments.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to adhere to all CarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA standards, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment and proper waste disposal.
